Hello Everyone,

We trust everyone has managed to fit some painting time into their busy schedules and that you are all enjoying your creativity.

The Cloakroom Gallery, managed by Sue Wademan, has had a busy year. She has arranged a number of exhibitions, all with quite different themes.

The Gallery is mostly open on Thursdays and Fridays each week. Our grateful thanks goes to the 'Southland Community Trust' which has again helped the Society with funding for the Cloakroom Gallery to enable the Society to promote this space. We thank Sue for all her work and dedication to this project.

The November Exhibition brought forward some very skilled and varied work which we were proud to hang. A good number of veiwers came through the exhibition, although sales seemed to be slower. A big thank you to all who helped with the work involved in the exhibition - it's a big job, but a fun one.

The next big challenge was the Mad March Art Sale. The standard of entries this year was very good and the prices were set to encourage sales. This is a great opportunity for those who wouldn't usually purchase original artwork to obtain a piece at bargain prices, then hopefully they may feel encouraged to become interested in art collecting in the future. It was a success and we plan to do it again next year.

The studios are humming along nicely under the watchful eye of manager Ros Moseby. Thank you Ros for all your efforts.

A huge thank you to all the committee members who have put so much time and effort into the running of the Society. Neither the November Exhibition nor the Mad March Art Sale would happen without their considerable input.

The Society's AGM will be held in May and we would encourage you to make an effort to attend. Just because you come along doesn't necessarily mean we'll give you a job!!

Happy painting

Noeline Murch
