Artist in Oils
Barbara has been painting her surroundings for the past 20 years and her main focus has always been on the landscape she enjoys. Living on the edge of Fiordland and later in Central Otago has provided a constant desire to capture the beauty of the mountains and lakes. An interest in gardening has also provided subject material as have her sons Highland Cattle, the latter providing an exciting new challenge.
With no formal training Barbara has developed her own style and has had commissions and exhibitions of her work. She has also exhibited in local exhibitions for several years and last year won the best of traditional award at the Locations Queenstown Exhibition.
Her paintings hang in many homes throughout NZ and overseas and for the past 9 years she has had her own studio/gallery to display her work first in Arrowtown and now at Lake Hayes Estate where visitors are welcome.
