Imagine

Craggy peak after craggy peak enclosing snow-fed tumbling streams; or level river flats meandering in ribbons of icy water to immeasurably deep alpine lakes; or wind tossed tussock meadows enfolding softer landforms. You have imagined the home of the Queenstown Art Society.

Never waste a moment of life - keep learning, learning.

After some years of clothes designing/construction and creating new galleries and displays as a Museum Curator, I started painting and drawing seriously and studied with The Learning Connexion, Wellington. I achieved a Diploma in Art and Creativity and I am now working towards Honours in this field.
Semi-abstract landscapes compose most of my work and they are suggested by using hessian, plaster and acrylic paint. Rough materials capture the harshness of the landforms and the light and shade patterns which are especially conspicuous here in Central Otago where I live.
More recently I have studied abstract artists and, using my in-depth knowledge of horses, have taken realistic studies into my interpretation of their shapes, forms and action.
Drawing is mostly in charcoal and pastel. I enjoy the textures that these mediums reveal. They are works in their own right, but are often taken further into paint or plaster.
I exhibit my work around Otago and have sold locally and internationally.
