Imagine

Craggy peak after craggy peak enclosing snow-fed tumbling streams; or level river flats meandering in ribbons of icy water to immeasurably deep alpine lakes; or wind tossed tussock meadows enfolding softer landforms. You have imagined the home of the Queenstown Art Society.

Sue Wademan is one of New Zealand's leading contemporary Textile Artists.

Sue lives on the top of Fernhill, in Queenstown, overlooking the spectacular beauty of Lake Wakatipu & the Remarkable Mountains.
For 8 years now her inspiration for her 'fabric paintings' has come from this environment & the changing colours of the seasons. A large, 4 panelled piece, commissioned by the Aspiring Arts & Culture Trust, called 'The Four Seasons', is on display in the Queenstown airport for all the visitors to see and enjoy.
Only recently has Sue's palette turned back to her RED side, to what she calls her "SOUL SCAPES"
Another recent deviation from her fabric collage landscapes is her acrylic on canvas textural paintings, that she calls "FENG SHUI feather paintings". These have such rhythm of texture and line that you feel like stroking them!

Sue's landscapes are filled with emotion. Their impressionistic quality evokes different things each time you look at them.
