About Our Workshops
The workshop is a very spacious, old science laboratory with large windows that face east and all within easy walking distance of the Queenstown waterfront and cafes.
Our workshop room has been the hub of many funclasses.
We are lucky to attract teachers from all over New Zealand and a very special class was held with Alvaro Castegnet who flew in from Uraguay en route to Australia.
Our classes are small and always full of enthusiastic pupils eagerly awaiting a visit from the tutor as they circulate the class.
Some of the classes that have been held are:
- oils with Nigel Wilson
- watercolour with Brian Millard
- watercolour with Alvaro Castegnet
- acrylics with Spike Wademan
- watercolours with Maurice Middleditch
- layered acrylics with Rachel Hirabayashi
- flax weaving with Ali Brown
- a talk on 'Being an Artist' by Graeme Sydney
- textures by Mags Meechang
- botanical painting using gouache
- lead lighting
- textile and dyeing with Sue Wademan
- life drawing
- watercolour with Ping Wang
- silk paper making

- and on, and on, and on................................
